The construction of green buildings is growing according to a recent survey by McGraw-Hill Construction. The research found that respondents expect more than 60 percent of their work to be green by 2015, an increase from the 28 percent that said the same for their work in 2013.
The survey measures several countries, but the key driver is the same according to the authors: more regions want to "go green." Green buildings now represent a business imperative around the world, especially with key factors influencing the market such as client and market demand.
"The acceleration of the green building marketplace around the world is creating markets for green building products and technologies, which in turn will lead to faster growth of green building."
The number of federal LEED-certified federal facilities jumped from 544 in 2011 to 821 the first eight months of 2012.
