The report showed exceptional growth in the solar PV sector, outshining wind power for the first time since the market research company first started tracking the global energy markets back in 2000. Solar PV generated 36.5 GW, edging out wind power which generated 35.5 GW. Overall, the solar PV market saw a 15% growth in 2013.
